Sisu Polar is built to withstand the demanding and changing conditions of the North. From the very beginning, the design process has been driven by the ambition to create the perfect tool for Finnish professionals, equipped with today’s cutting-edge technology.
The 4-axle Sisu Polar Hauler boasts a maximum permitted technical gross weight of nearly 70 tons – by far the highest in the market among 4-axle heavy haul tractors.
The factory-ready heavy haul tractor can be tailored to customer needs, just like all other models in the Polar range. Behind the Hauler’s cab, Sisu offers its own anodized aluminum tool cabinet, designed in-house. The cabinet houses air tanks, a hydraulic oil tank, hydraulic blocks, and a large fuel tank.
The Hauler is available factory-built with a combination of a 300 mm high U-profile frame and a 100 mm subframe, or with Sisu’s 460 mm high C-profile frame. The high frame enables, for example, the use of road maintenance equipment together with a hydraulically lifting fifth wheel. The lifting fifth wheel is mounted between the main frame beams, eliminating the need for a subframe and keeping the coupling height moderate.

At the very top of Sisu’s chassis solutions for haulage are tandem drives equipped with traction disengagement and hydraulic lift. When transporting heavy loads, it is essential to deliver maximum power from the driveline to the wheels. For heavy haul applications, Sisu offers a wide range of driveline options, from an 18-speed Fuller transmission to a turbo retarder clutch.
